Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, June 7, 1888

The remains of Mrs.  Kennedy, mother of Mrs. Hough and Mrs. Alexander Johnson 
were brought here on Tuesday from Greenville, where she died, for interment. 
They were met at the train by a number of the relatives and friends; and Rev. 
A. M. Gould, who conducted the services at the grave. Deceased had been ill for 
some time. It will be remembered that Mrs. Hough was at Greenville caring for 
her mother when the fire occurred here that destroyed the house in which the 
family was living.
