Ionia Daily Standard - Thursday, Mar. 6, 1902

The remains of John Kennedy were received in the city this morning from Alpena, 
and taken to the home of his parents on Mill street. This poor boy was so 
injured that death must have been almost instantaneous. Funeral from the Church 
of SS. Peter & Paul on Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Deceased was aged 24 
years.

The funeral of John Kennedy, which was attended at the Church of SS. Peter & 
Paul this  morning, was one of the very largest attended in the history of that 
church.
