A farmer and former employee of Mitchell-Bentley in Ionia, he was born Sept 11, 1915 to L. Jay and I. Gay Johnson Cooper. He was a former member of Montcalm County Soil Conservation Board, former Bloomer Township Clerk and a former member of the Bogart School board. In March of 1937 he married Ireta Griswold, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters; six sons; 18 granchildren; two sisters. He was reeceded in death by two grandsons, a step granddaughter, two brothers, Donald and Robert. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City, the Rev., James Cook officiating. Interment is in Palo Cemetery.
