Lake Odessa Wave, 1 Feb 1973

Mrs. Crystal Kenyon, 79, former Lake Odessa resident, passed away Friday 
morning at the Osteopathic hospital, Grand Rapids, where she was hospitalized 
two weeks.  She was born January 19, 1894 at Luther, the daughter of Eugene and 
Florence (Shapland) Willard.  January 1, 1916, she married Marvin E. Kenyon of 
Portland and they moved to the Lake Odessa area about 40 years ago from 
Portland.  The past nine years she had resided with her daughter Loraine Kenyon 
in Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Kenyon was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church at Ionia but for 
the last several years had attended the Sparta church.  She was a member of the 
Dorcas Society of the church and former member of the local chapter of the Blue 
Star Mothers of America.

Surviving are a son Willard of lake Odessa; two daughters Lorraine of Grand 
Rapids and Mrs. Herbert (Madonna) Blakely of Lansing; 10 grandchildren and 2 
great-grandchildren.  Mr. Kenyon passed away March 17, 1964.

Funeral services were held at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, Sunday 
afternoon at 4:30 with burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Pastor Paul E. Penno of  
Sparta and pastor Gordon E.  Stecker of Ionia officiated.
