July 24, 2013 LORAINE KENYON Walker,Mich. Our dear aunt Loraine Kenyon, 93 of Walker, Michigan passed away on July 22, 2013 at Wynwood of Meridian in Haslett, Michigan. Loraine was born to Melvin and Crystal Kenyon on July 18, 1920 in Ionia County, Michigan and graduated from Lake Odessa high School in 1938. She served her country during WWII as a production worker. She had a distinguished career with Fisher Body/GM beginning in a clerical position eventually becoming the first female Plant Purchasing Agent or as she liked to say"The only female allowed to eat in the Executive Dining Room." Loraine enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Dorothy,Roy, Madonna (Blakely) and Willard Kenyon. Her lifelong friend Irene Verburg also preceded her in death. Loraine is survived by ten nieces and nephews. Eugene (Alice) Kenyon, Phillip (Debra) Kenyon, James (Marilynn) Kenyon, Karen (Robert) Rhynard, Marcie Ginder, Michael (Shirley) Blakely, David (Deborah) Blakely, Jan (Al)Baszler, Kathleen Blakely and Gordon Blakely. She is also survived by 18 great-nieces and nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great nephew. She is also survived by her sister-in-law,Grace Kenyon and Irene S.,nieces Anita Bekins and Mary Little. Funeral services will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 10265 E.Brown Rd.,Lake Odessa at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday July 25,2013. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery,Lake Odessa immediately following the funeral. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wynwood of Meridian and Heartland Hospice for the loving care provided to Loraine.
