Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 May 1977

Gary L. Ketchum, 34, of 4260 Velte road, Woodland was dead on arrival at Pennock
hospital in Hastings Tuesday.  He was born July 7, 1942 in Pontiac, the son of
Herbert and Rebekah Barnum Ketchum and attended Woodland community schools.  He
graduated from Woodland high school in 1960.

Mr. Ketchum married the former Mary C. Murdock July 1, 1961 and was employed at
E. W. Bliss Company in Hastings and was also a farmer.  He had lived in Lake
Odessa until 1967 when he moved to Woodland.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran
church.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Jeffery; one daughter, Lisa his mother,
Mrs. Rebecca Cooley of Meridian, Mississippi, his father, Herbert Ketchum of
Pontiac and two brothers, Donald of Woodland and Charles of Meridian, Mississippi.

Services are Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran church in Woodland with
Rev. Michael Hampton officiating.  Arrangements were made by the Pickens-Koops
funeral chapel.
