MERRELL KETCHUM JR. 1929-2017
Merrell Andrew Ketchum Jr., age 87, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 2013 and 
formerly a longtime resident of Ionia, MI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 
February 12, 2017 at Harbor Chase of Plainfield Assisted Living. He was born 
April 10, 1929 in Ionia, MI. to Merrell A. Ketchum Sr. and Helen Morgan Ketchum. 
Merrell is fondly remembered for the kindness and generosity he extended to 
everyone he encountered.

In addition to hi beloved wife of 68 years, Norene Parker Ketchum; Merrell is 
survived by his daughter, Linda (Kerry) Allen of Plainfield; IL and his son, 
Merrell A. Ketchum III (Lisa) of Tuscaloosa, AL; his grandchildren, Daniel 
(Trista) Allen, Stefanie (Quinn Supplee) Allen, Jenna Allen, Reid (Tara) Ketchum 
and Morgan Ketchum; and his great-grandchildren Zoe, Violet and Olivia.

He was the brother of the late Barbara Dreff and the late Gordon Ketchum.

Merrell is a Korean War Veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was 
employed by Michigan Industries and was a member of the First Baptist church in 
Ionia, Mi. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, reading and was an 
accomplished painter. He found great joy in participating with and teaching  
these activities to his children and grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Harbor 
Chase of Plainfield Assisted Living. Their professionalism  and personal 
dedication to Merrell's care and Norene's ongoing care has been exceptional and 
is a blessing to the family.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family. Overman-Jones
