Jackson- Lester C. Ketner, 80, of 1112 Hamilton, died Saturday at Foote 
hospital, East, after an extended illness.

He was born November 17, 1897 in Paulding, Ohio, the son of H.R. and Ida Pierce 
Ketner.

A former Ionia county resident, he had farmed in Montcalm County where he 
developed an orchard and also lived in Armada before operating a Sunoco service 
station in Jackson from 1956 to 1972.

Mr. Ketner was a past noble grand of the Armada IOOF.

Survivors include his wife, Eliza, two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Moon and Mrs. 
Warren (Dorothy) Summers of Jackson, one son, Dewey of Dexter; one brother, 
Elmer of Marlette, a sister, Mrs. Alma Hubbard of Newaygo; 12 grandchildren, 12 
great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

Services are Wednesday at 11 am from the Burden and son funeral home at 1806 
East Michigan Avenue.

Burial is in Palo cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Monday and 
Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
