Mr. Keyes spent several weeks at the Alamogordo Sanatorium in New Mexico last fall. Deriving no benefit, he returned to Chicago where he was treated by a specialist but with little relief. The remains were brought to Collins where services were conducted by Rev. F. C. Fistler, of Portland. The funeral was held Tuesday, burial in Keefer cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Mr. Keyes was born in Collins, June fifth, eighteen seventy-eight. When a child, he resided five years in Kansas. For the past six years he has been a resident of Chicago, where he has built up a large business manufacturing balloons, airships and awnings. Owing to ill health he closed up his business last summer. His mother and two sisters reside in Collins.
