The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard Monday, December 24, 1951

Mrs. Mary Ann Kidder, 94, a resident of Ionia for 54 years, died Sunday, 
December 23, at 9:45 a.m. at the Ionia Convalescent home where she had been a 
patient for nearly five years.

She was born in New York City May 14, 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Michael Ryan.  They moved to Ionia county in 1859 and she lived the rest of 
her life in this area.  In 1873 she married James Kidder.  He died in 1889.  
Besides living in Ionia, she and her late husband lived and farmed in Keene 
township for several years.

She was a member of the First Methodist church.  The pastor, Dr. Howard A. 
Smith, will officiate at her services at the Boynton funeral home Thursday at 
2 p.m.  Interment will be in Saranac cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Lemmin, of Ionia; four grandchildren.  
A son, Harvey Kidder, died June 23, 1946.
