Kidder, 74, a former resident who made his home in Woodland for the past eight years, died Saturday evening enroute to Lakeview hospital in Battle Creek. Ill for a considerable time, he was reportedly dead on arrival at the hospital. Born March 27, 1899, in Oceana county, he was a son of George and Mamie McClain Kidder, and made his home in Lake Odessa for many years until moving to Woodland eight years ago. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Sebewa Church of God and married Alice Pritchard of Gaylord August 14, 1923. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Calvin of Sunfield, Mark of Newberry, Lewis of Mason and Larry of Lake Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. James Bowen of Woodland, Mrs. Lewis Dewey of Alamo, Calif.; and Mrs. Robert Rosenberger of Delton; 36 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. One son, Jerry Lee, preceded his father in death August 29, 1970. Also surviving is one brother, Earl of Hart, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Wolf of Gaylord, and Mrs. Martha Kleinhinz of Conway. Services will be at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa at 1:30 p.m. May 1 with Rev. Harley Barber, pastor of Full Gospel Truth church from east Jordan officiating.
