         SERVICES HELD FOR MILDRED KIERSTEAD
   Mrs. Mildred (Meyers) Kierstead, 85, a local resident for many years passed away
Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Loveless of 
Charlotte, where she had been about two weeks.
   She was born in Charlotte, August 28, 1884, the daughter of William and Martha
(White) Kink. Before her marriage she was employed at the local post office while 
her father was a rural carrier and at one time was a substitute rural carrier.  
She had also served as township treasurer, while a resident here.
   She married Glenn Meyers in 1913 ad he passed away in May 1940.  Many will
remember Glenn when he owned and operated the local pool hall.
  Mrs. Kierstead was a member of the Rebekah lodge for 67 years having joined the
local lodge on December 17, 1902 and the Past Noble Grand club, later transferring 
her membership to Lansing.  She was a member of the Mayflower Congregational church 
in Lansing.
   She moved to Lansing in 1942 and was a state employee for a number of years.  Her
marriage to Erwin Kierstead was in 1960 and he passed away in 1962.
   Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Loveless of Charlotte, Mrs. John (Doris)
Campanile of Lansing and Mrs. Edward (Marie) English of Warren;  13 grandchildren;  
two great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held at 1:30 Saturday at the Pickens Funeral Chapel.  Rev.
Norman Wibert officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
