Kilpatrick, 73, Woodland, a retired auditor for the State of Michigan, died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Barry County Medical facility. He had been a patient one year. Born in Woodland August 29, 1886, he was the son of Dr. David and Minerva McArthur Kilpatrick and spent most of his life in the Woodland area. He had also lived at East Lansing and Ann Arbor. Mr. Kilpatrick was a general auditor for the Citizen Telephone company until it was sold in 1924 to Michigan Bell Telephone company. For many years he served as secretary for the Woodland Insurance company. November 7, 1903 he was married to Lena Mohler. She died in Ann Arbor in 1952. Mr. Kilpatrick was a member of the Woodland Methodist church and a life member of the Woodland F&AM. He is survived by two sons, David Kilpatrick of South Lyon and Arthur of Battle Creek; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Inez Smith of Kalamazoo, and Carrie Kilpatrick of Woodland. The body of Mr. Kilpatrick will be at Pickens funeral chapel until Tuesday morning when it will be taken to the Woodland Methodist church. Service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. under the auspices of the Woodland F&AM. Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Floyd Fitch will officiate.
