Kilts, of Muir, died Saturday afternoon, January 15, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day. Born May 28, 1874, in Ionia County, the son of Nicholas and Mary Howell Kilts, he was 80 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Kilts had been a farmer most of his life. He retired a few years ago and moved to Muir. He is survived by his wife, Jennie; three daughters, Mrs. Glenellen Bennett of Comstock, Mrs. L. Stevens, Lansing; Mrs. Lulu Barbour, Matherton; one son, Elton Kilts of Lansing; and a sister, Mrs. Grace Ludwick of Matherton. Services were held from Myers Funeral Home at one o’clock Tuesday afternoon, January 18, and from the Methodist Church in Matherton at two o’clock. Rev. Horn officiated and burial was in the family lot in North Plains cemetery.
