Kimball, aged 76 years. In the death of Mr. Kimball the county loses one of its best citizens. He was born in St. Lawrence county, New York, February 2, 1827, and had been a resident of Lyons township for over 50 years, and at the time of his death was the owner of 280 acres, on which there is one of the finest brick houses to be found in the county. In 1852 deceased went to California in search of gold, returning two years later. In 1859 he was married to Mary Jane Wright, to whom were born eight children, six surviving, Flora Herron, Minnie Bennett, Emma Mygrant, Anna Hartman, Howard Kimball and Henry Kimball. His first wife died some years ago and he was married to his present wife about five years ago. Deceased was sick only from the Saturday prior to his death, which came as a sudden shock to the entire community. His funeral was held Thursday from the home, being conducted by Rev. N.R. Wood.
