Cordelia “Elva” Kimball, 82, of Greenville, formerly of St. Louis and 
Blanchard, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Metron of Greenville.  She was born 
June 19, 1920 in Gratiot County, the daughter of Leland and Cordelia Halliwill 
Youngs.

She received her GED from Montabella Schools.  She married Clark Northrup in 
October of 1940.  he died in January of 1951.  In july of 1959 she married Dale 
Kimball.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing 
piano.  Her favorite passion was camping.  She was a member of Saranac Free 
Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and daughter-in-law, 
Ruth Ann Northrup.  She is survived by her husband, Dale Kimball; five 
children, Ruth and Joe Sanger of Wheeler, Esther and Clyde Kimball of Hopkins, 
William Northrup of Sanford, Kathy and Ivan Palmer of Vestaburg, Donald 
Northrup of Greenville; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sister and 
brother-in-law, Ina and Jasper Fockler of Elwell; brother-in-law, Lyle and June 
Kimball of Six Lakes; and sister-in-law, Pearl Northrup of Alma.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis 
Chapel, with the Rev. Byron Davey officiating.  Burial is in Riverside 
Cemetery, Alma.  Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.  Memorials 
may be made to the Greenville Hillcrest Free Methodist Church building fund.  
The family is being served by Smith Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
