Kimball, 64, of Cedar Springs, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at his home. Alan was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Belding, the son of Everett and Emma Rowe Kimball. He earned a master’s degree from Central Michigan University of Mount Pleasant in vocational special education. Prior to an accident 22 years ago, he taught building trades and machine shop at Rockford Public Schools. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Kimball. He is survived by his wife, Joan Steinman, whom he married on Oct. 14, 1961; two sons, Tony and Rose Kimball of Belmont, Paul Kimball of Cedar Springs; three granddaughters, Gina, Marie and Kamal; father, Everett Kimball of Millbrook; three brothers, Stanley and Aleta Kimball of Blanchard, Ronald Kimball of Millbrook, Jeffrey and Kimberly Kimball of Millbrook; several nieces and nephews; and one aunt. Memorial services are noon on May 21 at the American Legion Hall, Cedar Springs. A luncheon will follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
