July 18, 2020 KIMBALL Dorthy (Wheelock) Kimball age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Dorthy was born September 22, 1939 to Leo and Lela Wheelock in Saranac, MI. Dorthy "Dot" married Arnold Kimball in February 1957. Dot will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra (Don) Busfield, Mark (Brenda) Kimball and James Kimball; grandchildren Debra (Rob) Strawser, Scott (Lisa) Busfield, Amy Busfield, Rebecca (Andrew) Wright, Mitch (Erin) Kimball, Morgan (Dakota) West; and 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew Butler, Kaitlyn, Rachel and Christopher Baldwin, Andrew Jr., Liam and Kendra Wright, Ethan and Aiden Busfield, Matthew and Madelynn Dorthy Kimball. Dot's siblings; Harriet (Bruce) Davenport, Anna Niemela, Charllot Perry, David Wheelock and Dan (Evelyn) Wheelock and several nieces and nephews. In their retirement year, she and Arnie wintered in Florida where they formed special friendships with those at the First Church of God-Bushnell. Dot graduated from Western Michigan University with a MA in Counseling Education. Throughout her 25 years of service at Saranac High School, she touched many lives within the community. Visitation will be on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 4PM - 7PM at Lake Funeral Home - 3521 South State Road - Ionia, MI. 48846 and Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 12PM-2PM at Pathway Church- 4960 Portland Rd, Saranac, MI. 48881. A funeral service with limited seating, will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Pathway Church - 4960 Portland Rd., Saranac, MI 48881. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice care staff, Leslie Andrews, and Theresa Loper, for the tender care given to Dot, Arnie, and their family during her illness.
