Greenville Library Pioneer Scrapbook, 1889

Silas Kimberly died at his home in this township on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1889, aged
75 years.  The funeral took place on Saturday last at the church at Otisco
conducted by Rev. Wm. Judd and attended by a large congregation of friends and
acquaintances.

Mr. Kimberly was born in Ashfield, Mass., Jan. 30, 1814.  In 1828 he came to
Webster, Mich., where in 1840 he married Miss Lyda C. Goodale.  In 1842 he
settled on the farm whence he has since resided.  His wife and four children
survived him while three children many years ago passed on before.  He will be
remembered as a man of estimable qualities, upright in all his dealings and
greatly beloved among his circle of relatives and friends.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Otisco Cemetery.]
