Portland Review - Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002

Dorothy Louise Kimmel, 84, of Portland passed away Aug. 12, 2002.

She was born in Danby Township Feb. 24, 1918 the daughter of Anthony and 
Ella (Pennfield) Pitch. Mrs. Kimmel enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, 
being outdoors and spending time at her cottage in Howard City. Dorothy 
loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her dog 
"Lady". She attended the section School in Danby Township and loved to go to 
garage sales.

Surviving are her children, Stanley (Sue) Kimmel, Richard (Sharon) Kimmel, 
Harold Kimmel, and Patti Herald; grandchildren, Douglas (Michelle) Kimmel, 
Amy (Robert) Wolcott, Michael Kimmel, Julie Kurkierewicz, Linda Kimmel, 
Stacey (Steven) Tropf, and Katie Herald; eight great-grandchildren. 

Services were conducted by Rev. William Amundsen, Pastor of First United 
Methodist Church of Grand Ledge Aug. 16 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral 
Home, Portland. Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
