She came to Michigan with her parents when 6 years of age and settled in Campbell Township. Aug. 13, 1862, she was married to George D. King, and on the following day he left for the war. On his return in 1863, they settled on the old home where she lived until her death. Mr. King preceded her 10 years ago. To this union were born 13 children, two of them dying in infancy, and Henry being killed at the age of 15 years. The remaining children who are left to mourn the loss of a mother are: Gertie C. Yeiter, S. Lowell, Riley H. of Berrien Center, Miner W. of Freeport, Orson E., Arthur F. and Earl A. of Campbell, Royal G. of So. Lowell, William M. of Freeport, Ben B. of Bellevue, and Mary M. Johnson, who lives at the old home. She leaves to mourn her loss, 10 children, 29 grand children, 1 great grand child, two sisters, 2 brothers, 1 half-brother, and a host of friends.
