H. King, was born near Warren, Pa., Aug. 27, 1839. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan J. Grosvenor, and three sisters survive: Mrs. L. D. Smith and Mrs. A. S. Wright of this city, and Mrs. Lucia A. Jackson of Pittsburg, Pa. She was married to E. H. King at Warren, Pa., Dec. 19, 1858, and came at once with her husband to make their home in Ionia, Mich., where she remained a resident to the date of her death—Feb. 26, 1910—a period of nearly 52 years. Two children were born to them, Lillian, the first born dying at the age of three and a half years; and Jean, the wife of Fred A. Tower. Mrs. King has thus been a resident of this city during her entire mature life, and was known and most highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends, to whom she was endeared by a life of constancy and devotion to the highest ideals of womanhood. Her passing away makes another vacancy among those long-time residents, who have done so much to establish the high character of our citizenship. The funeral services will be held at the home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, conducted by Rev. J. E. Wilkinson, D.D., of St. John’s church. The bearers will be: K.R. Smith, K.R. Smith, Jr., O.S. Wood, Grove A. Wright. Friends desiring to view remains may do so during the hour before service.
