Hasting's Reminder-January 2017

JOAN LOU (ROHRBACHER) KING
Lake Odessa, MI
Joan Lou (Rohrbacher) King, age 88, of Lake Odessa, passed away on January 5, 
2017 at Woodlawn Meadows in Hastings, with her family by her side.

She was born on July 31, 1928 to Charles and Maude (Martin) VanGeisen at Battle 
Creek. She was a graduate of Hastings High School

Joan and Lawrence made their home in Odessa Township raising five children, 
until his passing in 2000. She was an active member of Central United Methodist 
church, especially taking joy in the Alethians group for many years.

As a homemaker, Joan enjoyed canning sewing, playing cards and board games. 
Weaved into all Joan did was her love and joy of family, friends and faith.

In 2006, she married Theron King, a family friend of 50 years. Together they 
spent five happy years.

Joan is survived by children, Alan (Stephanie) Rohrbacher, Gordon Rohrbacher, 
Michael (Sharon) Rohrbacher, Connie (Bruce) Gutheridge, Carol (Dennis) 
Seifferlein; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by father, Charles VanGeisen; Mother, Maude Martin; 
spouse, Lawrence Rohrbacher; brother Martin VanGeisen; granddaughter, Sarah 
Rohrbacher.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan 9, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Koops Funeral 
Chapel, Inc., Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel, lake Odessa. Burial will take place next to her husband Lawrence 
in lakeside Cemetery, lake Odessa.

Memorials are suggested to the Central United Methodist Church. Online
