In Memory of Edith L. King.
       BY REQUEST.

Another loved one gone,
Gone from life's cares, life's woes;
Passed through life's stormy seas,
Done with life's pleasures, joys.

Gone from a bed of pain,
Of languishing of death;
Unto the other shore
"Where life is not a breath."

Gone, did I say? yes, gone,
From out our midst the while
To meet no more, until
We end life's weary mile.

Gone from loved friends, from home, 
The home that here was known;
Into that home, we trust,
Where partings never come.
