King, 71, of Arnold Street, South Ionia, died at Carson City hospital Monday, June 30, at 4:40 p.m. after being a patient there since June 24. He had made his home with a sister, Mrs. Rachael Bowers, of Mt. Pleasant Route 2 for several years. King was born in Tarke County, O., December 28, 1880, the son of William and Catherine King. He came to Ionia in 1904 and was a pattern maker by trade. He worked for the Capital Wagon Works and the Hayes Manufacturing company until the Hayes left Ionia. He also worked for other manufacturers in Grand Rapids, Flint, and Lansing. Mrs. King died in January 1946. Surviving are the sister, Mrs. Bowers of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, Rolley King of Plain City, O. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
