King - Lyons - Albert E. King, 84, died at his home in Lyons at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, July 27, after being ill for a year. He had been totally blind for the past 33 years. He was born in Kent, England, July 18, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen King. He moved to Hudson with his parents as a small child. June 3, 1900, he was married to Ada B. Calkins of Lowell at Crystal Falls, U.P. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago. He lived in Lyons some time ago and also in Ionia before returning to Lyons six years ago where he and Mrs. King have lived since. King was a former Pere Marquette railroad employee traveling between Grand Rapids and Detroit. Survivors are his wife, Ada; two daughters, Mrs. William Blodgett of Clarksville and Mrs. Elmer Stanton of Lyons; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie of Oregon and Grace of California; and two brothers, John and Stephen, both of Colorado. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Myers funeral home. The Rev. George Bolitho, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be in Merriman cemetery at Alto." King, 84, who died at his home in Lyons Sunday morning, July 27, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Myers funeral home by the Rev. George Bolitho, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church. Ernest Clark, Elmer Cutler, Paul Gladding, Morris Charles, Stanley Preston and Floyd Prebbie, were bearers. Burial was in Merriman cemetery, Alto."
