King at First Not Thought in Serious Condition. Orlando F. King, whose death occurred yesterday morning at five o’clock, from abscess on the brain, had been a resident of Ionia a little over three years, having come here in the fall of 1905, with his brother John, and entered the employ of the Ionia Wagon company, where he continued about two years. Last summer he spent with the Pere Marquette painting crew, under the foremanship of J. R. Crispen, and after the season closed, entered Kling’s barber whop, with the intention of learning the trade. Last Wednesday, feeling too ill to work, he returned to his room at Mrs. Templeton’s, and that night Dr. More was called; but the case not seeming serious, no further medical attendance was thought necessary, until Saturday night, when his left side was found to be paralyzed. Dr. Ogden was hastily summoned who later called Dr. Winchell as counsel. The disease had progressed beyond the reach of medical skill. Mr. King was about twenty-five years old, and unmarried. He was a young man of fine appearance and exemplary habits, highly esteemed among his acquaintances. From his first arrival in the city, Mr. King has been a member of the young men’s bible class of the Baptist Sunday school, and was for one year its president. The remains were taken this morning, accompanied by his brother, John, and Will Templeton, to Shepherd, Isabella county, where his parents, two sisters and a younger brother reside. The funeral service will be held there tomorrow or Thursday, conducted by Mr. Branch, who will go with other friends from Ionia.
