Lowell Journal, 1 Jan 1896

Mary A. King, aged 77 years, departed this life Saturday, Dec. 28th.  The
deceased was born in England, and with her husband came to this country at an
early period of her life.  She was a kind loving mother, and an earnest
Christian.  She constantly talked to the family of the blessed savior and his
power to save.  She leaves seven children to mourn her loss, her husband and two
children preceded her to the better land.  The funeral services were held at the
S. B. M.E. church conducted by Rev. H. Coles.  A large concourse of friends
followed the remains to their last resting place in the So. Boston cemetery.
    Dearest mother, thou hast left us,
    And thy loss we deeply feel.
    But ‘tis God who has berefted us
    He can all our sorrow heal.
