While his health had not been so well for the past couple months, his condition was not considered alarming by his family and neighbors, thus making his sudden passing keenly felt throughout the local vicinities. Earl was one of a family of eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. George King. He was born on a farm near Elmdale March 29, 1875 and had always resided in the community. Mr. King passed away at his farm home about one-thirty Monday morning of heart trouble. He is survived by a son Norman, a grandson Dickie, two sisters, Mrs. Oxel Johnson of Clarksville and Mrs. Gertie Yeiter of Lowell, four brothers, Miner and William of Freeport, Orson of Lake Odessa and Royal of Orleans. Funeral services were held Wednesday at one thirty and at two o’clock at the Mennonite Church with Rev. R.C. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Mennonite cemetery.
