Fred King, 69, died Thursday afternoon very suddenly while talking with friends who had called on him and his wife. Coroner Dale Kauffman of Ionia, who was called, gave the cause of the death as a heart attack. The Rev. Mr. King, a United Brethren minister, serviced churches in the Cascora circuit near South Haven, was 10 years at the Baltimore circuit, and four years at the West Lowell station. In 1938 he retired to his farm near Lake Odessa where he died. He leaves his wife, Elizabeth; a son, Theron; a brother, Charles of Hastings. Another son, Espelle V., was killed in the Battle of the Bulge, January 22, 1945. The body will remain at the Pickens funeral home in Lake Odessa until Monday when it will be taken to the United Brethren church in Woodbury where services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Verne Beardsley will officiate. Interment will be in the Lake Side cemetery.
