M. Mrs Ella Kart Kingman, 93 one of the oldest residents of Lake Odessa, passed away early Sunday morning at her home after a long illness. She had spent her entire life in this area after coming from New York state with her parents, Alfred and Mary (Warren) Burt, when twelve years old. Mrs. Kingman was the last of the living charter members of the Rebekah lodge and also a member of the Order of Eastern Star chapter. Her first husband was Charles Kart, who was in the lumber, hardware and garage business for many years and built the former Ford garage building. He passed away in May 1921. She then married William Kingman, a farmer in January 1929, and he passed away in 1942. Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Elsie Gilliland; 8 grand children' 15 great grand children, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. A. J. Pitman officiated.
