County News - Thursday, March 11, 1948

Mrs. Emma Kingston, 79, died at the home of her daughter, Ms. David McCord i 
Easton at 3:50 Tuesday morning, March 9. She had made her home with her son-in-
law and daughter the past three years. 

Emma Conner was born in Easton township, November 17, 1868. She was married to 
John N. Kingston, of Ionia township, on January 6, 1892. They lived on the 
township farm all of their married life and Mr. Kingston died there in 1925.

Mrs. Kingston is survived by a son, Burton Kingston, of Ionia township, two 
daughters, Mrs. McCord of Easton and Ms. Harry Young of Berlin township. 
Another daughter, Mrs. Marian Benedict died in 1972, and a son, (unreadable) 
died in infancy. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Max Stebbins of Saranac, no 
in Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Frank Covert of  Easton; seven grandchildren 
and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Kingston was a member of the Church of Christ, Ionia, and the Mrs. T. B. 
Preston Sunday school class of that church.

Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate at the funeral services, which will be from 
Stone funeral Home at two o'clock, Friday afternoon March 12, burial will be in 
Tuttle cemetery.
