Kinkaid, brother of the late Mrs. Walter D. Arnold, in the 72nd year of his age. He died at the home of his son-in-law, H. L. Dawson. The cause of death was pneumonia and his final illness extended over a period of but two weeks. Mr. Kinkaid came to Ionia when a boy, before the civil war, and for a time was employed in the Rich & Arnold store. If we are not mistaken he also was a student in the state normal school for a time. Those who were boys then and are still living in Ionia will remember him very well. He was a fine, companionable boy and much liked. From Ionia he went to Elgin, Ill., where for many years he was publisher of a newspaper. He went to Cleveland in the year 1904 to live with his daughter. Two daughters and three grandchildren survive him.
