Hester E. Kinney, 89, died Saturday, March 25, 1995.

She was born July 30, 1905, in Eagle Township.  She was a charter member of the 
Portland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Margery Bennett of Portland and Georgia Kinney of 
Mattewan; and sister Dorothy E. Neller of Portland.

She was preceded in death by her husband Basil and son James.  Funeral services 
will be held Wednesday, March 29, 1995, at the Neller Chapel, 210 Bridge St., 
Portland, with the Rev. Stanley A. Finkbeiner, Northlawn United Methodist 
Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Portland Cemetery, with her 
grandsons serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be at the Chapel Monday, March 27, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 
March 28, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Portland 
United Methodist Church, Helping Hands Hospice of Ionia or the Portland 
Riverwalk.
