The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, July 1, 1952
Funeral services for James H. Kinney, 24, of Amphlett Terrace, were held 
Monday at 2 p.m. from the Neller funeral home in Portland.  The Rev. Keith 
Avery of the Portland Methodist church officiated.  Interment was in Portland 
cemetery.

Kinney was killed instantly early last Friday morning when the car he was 
driving struck a heavy semi-trailer truck a half-mile west of Frost Corners on 
US-16.  

Pallbearers were Fred Baker, Robert Nowak, Donald Walker, Doyle Dunham, Harold 
Evans, and Warren Goff, all of Portland, and friends of Kinney.
