Georgia Jean Kinney, age 81, passed away on July 1, 2015 after a courageous
battle with Parkinson’s disease.  Georgia was born in Portland, MI, on June 24,
1934, where she would reside at 650 Riverside Drive with her Mom and Dad, Hester
and Basil Kinney; her brother, Jim, and sister Margery (Pifer).  

Only Margery survives her, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Also
surviving Georgia is her special friend of more than twenty years, Sue Darling.

Georgia dedicated her life to the welfare of others through her work in the
healthcare field.  She held a Masters Degree in nursing, working in numerous
hospitals over the years before taking a position with the State of Michigan,
inspecting long term care facilities, helping them to improve their standards of
care for the elderly.  Georgia loved to travel, and in her later years of life,
spent winters in Arizona.  Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes,
Portland.
