Carson City Gazette, 31 Mar 1922

Elizabeth Ann, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Anderson, was born in Allen 
Co., Indiana, March 17, 1854, and passed away Mar. 23, 1922, aged 68 years and 
six days.

She came to Michigan with her parents when 14 years of age.

In April. 1878, she was united in marriage to John Chandler Kinney, who had 
served in Co. C, 11th Michigan Cavalry, during the Civil war.  He passed away 
May 12, 1891.  Two daughters were born to them – Mrs. Wm. Mann of North Shade 
and Mrs. Lewis Shaffer of Crystal.  Mrs. Kinney’s two sisters and two brothers 
preceded her to the Great Beyond and but one sister is now living, Mrs. Ellen 
Brooks, of Edmore.  Besides her daughters and one sister their loss will be 
mourned by seven grandchildren, four nieces, three nephews, besides many other 
relatives and many friends.

The funeral services were held at her late home Sunday afternoon, Rev. Edward 
Humphrey officiating, and the remains taken to Saranac for interment.
