Her maiden name was Nettie Smith and Portland was her home in her girlhood days. Her father was Hial Smith and her family was well known. Mrs. Kipp, who had lived in Jackson many years, went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clover Hunn, in Cleveland, a short time before her death. A few days before this occurred she became so ill that she was taken to a hospital in that city, where she died. She would have been 65 next April. Burial was in Jackson. Mrs. Kipp was the last of her family. Both parents died years ago and an only brother, Charles Smith, has been dead a number of years.
