The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, November 23, 1929

Burdette Kirby, 35, of Maple Rapids, formerly of Saranac, owner of a garage, 
was found dead in the building by one of his employees Friday morning at 8 
o’clock.  It is believed that Mr. Kirby died from monoxide gas poisoning.  The 
body has been brought to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Kirby, 
of Saranac, and the funeral services will be held there Sunday at 2 o’clock.  

His widow, a son and two daughters; a brother, Elzie, of Lansing; a sister, 
Mrs. Carl Peck, of Keene, and the parents survive.
