Stanley D. Kirby age 78 of Saranac passed away January 16, 2004 at Sparrow 
Hosp. in Lansing. He was born in Lansing December 30, 1925 the son of Elzie 
Kirby and Alice Marie Kopkau. He was with the United States Marine Corp. 
during WII at Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Saranac Community Church. He 
married Marthajane Farrington June 27,1947 in Kansas City, Mo. Besides his 
wife he is survived by one son David  (Patty) Kirby of Walker and one daughter 
Nancy Jo Kirby of Wyoming, MI. One grandson Philip. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11 AM. at the Saranac Community 
Church with Rev. John Madvig officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday from 7-8:30 P.M. and 
Monday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 P.M. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone 
wishing may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
