The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 17, 1961
Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Phelps funeral 
chapel for Fred J. Kirby, 33, of Palo. He died Wednesday night at Veterans 
hospital in Saginaw.

Rev. Donald Krueger of Holy Cross Lutheran church of Belding officiating and 
interment was in Palo cemetery.  Bearers were Donald Stanton, Fred Shaeffer, 
Lester Edmonds, Vernon Voss, Richard Soules and John Wieczorek.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. David Miyamoto of Zeeland, Mr. 
and Mrs. Joseph Hendler and Mrs. Blanche Malone of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. 
Kenneth Staines of Sheridan, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rice of Saranac and Mr. and 
Mrs. Julius Nobis of Muir.
