The boy’s mother was formerly Dorothy Cole, a daughter of Jesse Cole, and she attended school in Portland. The father, Jake Kirchen, is a brother of Mrs. Santino Guidi, of Portland. The incident occurred while the family was at a picnic. Donald was sleeping in the rear seat of the parked car and his head became caught between cushion and door.
