Berenice June Kirkham, 80, of Muir passed away Saturday, May 17, 2003 at 
Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia.  She was born June 1, 1922 in St. Johns 
the daughter of Arthur D. and Beatrice (Rowe) Munro.

Berenice graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1939 and went on to 
attend college in Lansing.  She married Donald C. Kirkham January 20, 1943 who 
preceded in death in August of 1999.  Berenice was a Michigan Bell Telephone 
operator for several years.  She also worked as a personal administrator for 
Howell State Hospital.  

She is survived by daughter Cynthia (Gerald) White of Muir, Sylvia (Kenneth) 
Ferris of Lyons, Julie (Richard) Longway of Lowell; sisters, Phyllis (Boyd) 
Wiggins of East Jordan, Carol Cornell of St. Johns, Kay Winslow; 10 
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce, and brother-in-law Keith 
Cornell.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today at Lake Funeral Home in Muir with Rev. Scott 
Otis officiating.  Interment will be in Edmore Cemetery at 4 p.m.  The family 
will receive friends and relatives Monday at the funeral home.

Anyone wishing may make memorial donations to American Lung Association, 
Heartland Health Care, or Association for the Blind.
