Born January 5, 1892 in Woodland township, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Musbach) Velte. She was married to Howard Klahn November 21, 1917. He died in 1937. Mrs. Klahn spent most of her life in the Lake Odessa area. She was a member of the Central Methodist church and served as a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She was a member of the WSCS, Lakeside Grange, South Berlin Aid society and Recreation and Cheerful Helpers clubs. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Gayla) Brooks of Woodland, Mrs. Rex (Beulah) McLeod of Battle Creek and Mrs. Henry (Ruth) Foote of Marion; one son, Carl of Lake Odessa; two sisters, Miss Rosa Velte and Mrs. Carl Reuther, both of Woodland; two brothers, Lawrence and William, both of Woodland; 12 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. The body is at the Pickens funeral chapel where service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Paul Robinson will officiate.
