Last Sunday afternoon the friends of Mrs.Howard Klahn were greatly saddened by the announcement of her death. On Friday evening a girl baby was born and the mother seemed to be improving nicely until Sunday morning, when a fever set in and she later lapsed into unconsciousness from which she never aroused, dying Sunday afternoon. She was reared in this vicinity and attended the Lake Odessa school from childhood. She was a lovable girl and had won the regard of all who knew her. The funeral was held at the M.E. church Wednesday forenoon, Rev. Thos. Laity, her pastor, preaching from the text,"Be ye also ready." The music was furnished by a quartette consisting of Mesdames Thomas Johnson and A.J. Dann who were accompanied by Mrs.S.W. Dann. The flowers were profuse. The pall bearers were Messrs. Russel Hershiser, Ernest Beard, Howard Lawrence, George Barker, Benjamin carter and Fred Curtis, and her Sunday school class attended as honorary bearers. Notwithstanding the bad roads, the down pour of rain and the sleet the attendance was large and many followed to Lakeside cemetery where the deceased was laid to rest. The bereaved family has the sympathy of a large circle of friends. These young people just starting out in life and having been successfully worked up, the great sorrow casts a double gloom on the future for the young husband and father. OBITUARY Beulah B. Bowerman was born in Kokomo, Indiana, June 1, 1888 and died in her late home January 9, 1916. When a young girl she came with her parents to Odessa township where she has since made her home. To them were born two children, Gaylia, Irene and the precious babe so soon left motherless. She was converted in the old Methodist church bout 12 years ago, and united with this church during the pastorate of Rev. A.T.Luther, July 10, 1910. June 4, 1911 she was received into full membership by the present pastor. She was true to the church of her choice and was universally held in high esteem. Besides her husband and two children, she leaves to mourn their loss her father, mother, one brother, and a large company of friends who will cherish her memory.
