He was born June 25, 1903, in Lake Odessa, the son of John and Wilhelmina Christie Klahn. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1921. He married Geraldine Reiser on December 17, 1927 in Lake Odessa. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine, one daughter, Barbara Graeff of Muskegon; one grandson, Garry Graeff of Wyoming, one brother, Alton Klahn of Lake Odessa; and a sister-in-law Edna Klahn of Lansing. One grandson, David Graeff; two brothers Howard and Arthur Klahn; and one sister Glayds Koutz preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, in Lake Odessa, the Rev. Arthur Ruder officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald Erickson, Robert Shoemaker, Daniel Durkee, Virgil Manley, Donald Possehn, and Keith Haller. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Lake Odessa Ambulance Service and the First Congregational Church of Lake Odessa.
