Excerpts from Lansing Obituary
Patricia A. Klein of Portland, Michigan
Died August 31 2020-age 84 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Mich.
Born November 1, 1936 to Victor and Aurelia Cook in Pewamo, Mich.
Graduated from Gladwin High School in 1954 where she played Basketball.
She learned to play the Piano early in life & played the Organ at her church.
She attended Villanove Pennsylvania Catholic College to become a nun.
She decided to come home & worked at Dow Chemical Bank in Midland. Also 
worked for Mich. National Bank in Lansing & for the Secretary of the State of 
Michigan.
Pat married her first husband Martin Hoerner in 1958. Martin died in a tragic 
car accident leaving Pat with 2 young boys, Anthony & Francis Hoerner.
In 1968, she married Joseph H. Klein & had 2 more children, Maria & Harry 
Klein.
Survived by her sister, Hildegard Platy, her husband of 52 years Joseph 
Klein; 4 children, Anthony (Steve) Hoerner, Francis (Kathy) Hoerner, Maria 
(Joel) Pennington, and Harry Klein, 3 grandchildren; Katherine & Christopher 
Pennington and Andrew Hoerner; 2 great-grandchildren; Carter and Aiden 
Russell.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:30 
a.m. Thursday Sept.3, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of 
Committal will follow. A private visitation will be held.
