Ionia Sentinel Standard, 21 May 1974

William Klein, 82, of 414 Baldie died Monday at St. Mary’s hospital in Grand
Rapids.  He was born in Dallas township, Montcalm county, June 30, 1891, the son
of John and Anna Smith Klein.  He was a veteran of World War I having served
with the army in France.

He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic church and the American Legion
Ionia post.  He was a carpenter and was also employed at the Ionia Manufacturing
Company and its predecessors for 40 years retiring in 1963.

November 13, 1917, he was married in Pewamo to Clara Whittaker who died in 1965.
 His only survivors are nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the SS Peter and Paul church. 
Interment will be at St. Joseph cemetery at Pewamo.  Rosary will be recited
Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Myers-Roetman funeral home.
