The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, February 8, 2003

John James Kline, 96, of Lyons, passed away February 6, 2003 in Ionia.  He was 
born October 2, 1906 in Ionia the son of Daniel and Grace (Hammond) Kline.  He 
married Hattie “Esther” Badder May 24, 1930 who preceded him in death December 
12, 2000.

He was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Robert James (Barbara) Kline of Sidney, Joyce 
Elaine (Milton) Powers of Arizona, Larry (Beatrice) Kline of Lyons, David 
(Lynn) Kline of Alma, and Richard (Barbara) Kline of Dimondale; twenty-one 
grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death 
by two sons, Raymond and William, one daughter, Joann, one sister Mary, and 
one half brother Clinton.

Funeral services for Mr. Kline will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Lincoln Avenue 
Baptist church with Rev. Darren Tharp officiating.  The family will receive 
friends and family Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
