Don was born August 4th 1948, in Belding, the son of Donald Kline and Letha (Peasley) Kline. Don was a 1966 graduate of Belding High School where he played baseball and was known for his pitching agility. He played drums in his high School band. He loved music with a beat.The tune Wipeout was his favorite tune to play. Some years later Don took a building course through Commercial Trades Institute, which prompted him to take his state test to become a licensed carpenter.He worked for a few local Construction companies and retired in 2006 from Erhardt Construction.Don was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country from 1968-1970. He loved attending his army reunion and seeing his Army "Brothers". Don was very passionate about his hobby of collecting, mounting, and displaying Indian artifacts and Indian arrowheads in his arrowhead room. He loved to show people who came to the house to visit his collection. Don loved his children and grandchildren and was very proud of each one and their accomplishments.He enjoyed attending their athletic and after school activities.He coached little league and was an assistant scout leader. Don and Grandson, Christopher, had a close relationship. They would talk for hours about anything and everything.Christopher called grandpa his best friend. Don is loved and survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy, son Shad (Nina) Kline of Greenville, and daughter Shawn (Richard) Rasch of Orleans, grandchildren, Christopher Rasch, Alyson Kline, Madelyn Rasch, Bret Priest and Zakk Saucier, two great grandchildren, siblings Sharon Moore, Donna Jean Masters,Terry (Jeanne) Kline, and Roger (Johnel) Buckingham, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, baby granddaughter, Bailey, and his cats Panama and Max. A memorial service with military honors will take place Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Johnson-Feuerstein Fueneral Home, with PastorMike Simmons presiding. Visitation will be two hours before the service. A luncheon at the American Legion will follow. Memorial contributions in memory of Don may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice, The Cat Rescue-Cat Trap Fever (Belding), or the Belding Museum. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
